Food for Thoughts

Our Worth

There are times where we think we deserve somethings. There are times where we think we don't deserve somethings, and we don't know how to appreciate the good things that come into our lives. We let them pass by.

Jesus died for us on the cross, irregardless what we think, what we do or what we say. David, a young sheperd boy whom nobody ever thought he would be a king; Joseph, the dreamer, who went through hardship, rose to high position; Gideon, a fearful person, who kept asking God for signs for confimation, yet God used him mightily.

While many anchor their identities on acheivements, social status, money value, etc, God wants us to anchor ourselves in Him, to know who we are in Him. No matter what we have gone through, He finds it is totally worthwhile to wait for us, to bless us, to forgive us and embrace us. Once we know our identities in Him, and our focus on Him, other things will diminish and things will fall into places.

Dare to Dream

God wants to give us blessings and abundance life. He has great plans installed for us to discover. Many times, when He wants to pour unto us. But often, these are hindered and limited by our lack of faith. Joel Osteen, in his book, Your Best Life Now, encouraged us to expand our faith horizon, to see beyond our family background, our circumstances and dare to dream.

Matthew 9:28-29
When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" "Yes, Lord," they replied. Then he touched their eyes and said, "According to your faith will it be done to you"

Do you believe that He is able to do so? If yes, then according to your faith He will do it to you...in His time. Lets pray and wait upon Him with great expectancy.

P/S...I have finished reading chapter 3 of Joel Osteen's "Your Best Life Now". Still reading.

New Chapter

Yeah, started a new chapter of my life. What an adjustment! From a structured environment, to a non-structured, and now back to structured. From small chat to technical chat, procedure chat...

Gosh, the amount of passwords that I have to remember and be creative in password setting. Yup, first day oredi forgot my password after the change. After 3 attempts, I was locked.

Despite that, I have pretty happy and excited. Yes, adjustment is definite, but I know the One behind all these: His grace, love and sceptor of favour. Strive to live for the Audience of One, our Lord Jesus Christ

Live by Faith

Heard a sermon over City Harvest Live Webcast yesterday. It's about faith. Yes, faith again! Here're what I have taken away:

We shape our life by what we believe and speak. If you speak death (like Chinese says, "Sei"), it will be dead; if you speak life, it will be alive. In 2 Corinthians 4:13, it is written: "I believed; therefore I have spoken." With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak.

Do you truly believe in God's word and promises? If so, start speaking to your circumstances with faith, proclaiming God's word and promises into your life, in faith.

Our National Day

Malaysian celebrated 51st Merdeka Day (Independent Day) yesterday. Yes, more than half a century. In The Star, lots of write-up in conjunction with the celebration. One was about our previous prime ministers: Tunku was a visionary and dreamer, Tun Razak was a planner and Tun Hussein Onn was an implementer. Another one was about inter-race marriages: testimonies, challenges and insights of the couples.Very interesting.

Many Malaysians have wishes and prayers for the nation. So, what's mine?
~ All Malaysians are bangsa Malaysia, without discrimination of races and religions
~ Greater depth in muhibbah spirit,
~ Economically revived and resource optimisation
~ Justice and righteousness prevails
~ Revolution in education system: more far-sighted and forward-looking, not regression.
~ Safety and peace for this land

Merdeka =Freedom, Independence. So, let it be, in all aspects: out of bondages, into freedom and independence. Happy Birthday, Malaysia!
